Welcome to the Community of the Archangel Gabriel, an English-speaking Orthodox Christian community in Glasgow, Scotland.

Our priest, Father Augustine was given a blessing by Archbishop Jean of Dubna and the late Archbishop Gabriel to found a small community in the centre of the university neighbourhood, to be a place of worship for Orthodox believers and enquirers from all backgrounds. Archbishop Jean fully supports Father’s outreach here as part of the Orthodox Church in Scotland.

The community was kindly provided with a crypt room underneath the Wellington Church, University Avenue, by the Church of Scotland, in 2013. This room has been renovated into a chapel. The work has been done by Fr Augustine with the generous help of donations and the labour of his own hands – help is now needed to ensure we have a full library of Liturgical books, a useful website and improved technology to stream services to those far away. As our community continues to grow, we are working towards raising money so that we can purchase our own church!

You are welcome to join in prayer that this little gem of a chapel may bring peace, joy and increase of the Faith. Benefactors of the community will be commemorated during the Divine Liturgy.
